Refund and Cancellation Policy

At TariffX.ai, we are committed to providing you with the highest quality of service. This Refund and Cancellation Policy governs the terms under which you can cancel our services or request a refund for the "Credits" or subscription plans you have purchased.
1. Subscriptions and Pay-As-You-Go Credits
TariffX.ai operates primarily on a prepaid "Credit" or Pay-As-You-Go basis. Credits are consumed for each query run through our AI engine to retrieve HTS classifications, ad valorem taxes, or AD/CVD duties.
2. Cancellation of Accounts or Subscriptions
- How to Cancel: You can cancel your TariffX.ai account or any recurring subscription at any time by logging into your account, navigating to the "Billing" or "Settings" section, and selecting "Cancel Subscription" or "Delete Account."
- Effect of Cancellation: If you have an active recurring subscription and you cancel it, you will retain access to the subscribed features until the end of your current billing cycle. After that, your subscription will not renew, and no further charges will be applied. Your account will revert to the free tier (if applicable).
- Unused Credits upon Cancellation: Unused Credits remain associated with your account until they expire (if applicable, per your specific plan terms) or until you request account deletion.
3. General Refund Guidelines
Given the computational costs associated with generating AI responses (which are incurred instantly primarily via third-party providers like OpenAI or Anthropic), all payments are generally final and non-refundable.
However, we understand that exceptional circumstances occur. Refunds may be considered ONLY under the following conditions:
- Accidental Charges: If you believe you were charged in error due to a technical glitch on our end or a duplicate transaction, please contact us within 7 days of the charge.
- Service Unavailability: If TariffX.ai suffers from prolonged downtime or critical malfunction preventing you from utilizing the service, and we fail to resolve it within a reasonable timeframe, you may request a partial refund of unconsumed credits or subscription fees prorated for the downtime duration.
- Unused Credits Only: If approved under exceptional circumstances, any refund will be strictly limited to the remaining unconsumed credits in your account. Credits that have already been used for AI queries or API calls are strictly non-refundable, as the computational costs have already been incurred.
4. Force Majeure
No refunds will be granted for service disruptions, failures, or delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control (Force Majeure). This includes, but is not limited to, acts of war, terrorism, natural disasters, pandemics, government regulations, or severe infrastructure/internet outages.
5. Refund Process
If you believe you meet the criteria for a refund based on the above guidelines, please follow these steps:
- Send an email to: op@tariffx.ai
- Include the subject line: "Refund Request - [Your Account Email]"
- Provide your full name, the exact date of purchase, the transaction ID (which you received from Stripe in your receipt), and a detailed explanation of why you are requesting a refund.
Our team will review your request and get back to you within 3-5 business days. If approved, the refund will be processed and automatically credited back to your original payment method within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank or credit card issuer.
6. Chargebacks, Disputes, and Fraudulent Funding
- Direct Stripe Disputes: If you initiate a refund request, chargeback, or dispute directly through Stripe, your credit card issuer, or your bank, the process is entirely out of our control and we hold no responsibility for their decisions or processing timelines.
- Fraudulent Transactions ("Dirty Money"): If a transaction is flagged by Stripe or our payment processors as fraudulent, involves illegally obtained funds, or if Stripe unilaterally mandates a payment reversal, we will strictly refuse any refund to the user. The associated account will be permanently banned, and all remaining credits will be confiscated without compensation.
- Prior Contact Required: We strongly encourage our users to contact us to resolve any issues before initiating a chargeback or dispute. If a chargeback is filed without contacting us first, your account and API access will be instantly suspended while the dispute is being investigated.
7. Policy Updates
We reserve the right to amend this Refund and Cancellation Policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page and will become effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the service following the posting of any changes constitutes accepted of those changes.
